Development of the Spirit

The holistic education programme at BMHS places equal emphasis on the development of the mind, the body and the spirit.

Morning Assembly and Moral Education

The development of the mind and the body is futile without the development of the spirit. We begin every day with a morning assembly where daily prayers are said and the agenda for the day is set. Moral education classes are a part of the curriculum and classes are compulsory. Regular yoga practice is also essential to the development of the spirit.

Inter-House Competitions and Talents’ Day

We make sure that all students take part in talents’ day and inter-class competitions. This not only helps showcase the development of their mind and body but teaches them how to deal with victory, defeat, stress and competition

Library and Reading Room

Access to a full-fledged library and reading room is also available to every single student so that they can use it for self-development

Bharatanatyam and Carnatic Music Classes

The school has always tried to provide after-school music and dance classes. Music and dance not only help in development of the body but also the development of the spirit. We strongly believe that everyone should have access to dance and music classes and that it should not only be for the privileged few of the society. Hence, we provide these classes at a nominal cost within the school premises. The pandemic interrupted this but we intend to re-start dance classes from June 2023.

Mental Health and Counselling

Mental health is another important aspect. Our in-house counsellors are available for both parents and students upon prior appointment. Even during regular parent teacher meetings, the child’s mental well-being is discussed.
