Recent Events

Ayudha Pooja Celebrations

Every year, the Management makes it a point to celebrate the unsung heroes of BMHS – our housekeeping staff, transport staff and security staff. We organised a social outing for them along with lunch. They also received gifts and bonuses. Prayers were offered and pooja was performed for the vehicles.  

Health Camp for Teachers and Support Staff

The Management organised a full health check-up for all teachers and support staff as a part of its welfare scheme on 03-10-2024. This will be followed by a free consultation with a senior doctor. 

Teachers' Day

The management and students organized a grand celebration for the teachers. Class 7 students made hand-made cards for all the teachers, class 8 students decorated all the classrooms, and class 9 students organized a fun-filled games session for all the teachers. The teachers took part in a game of tug-o-war as well. The Management presented the teachers with a box of traditional sweets and Kasuti Embroidered Pouches made by a women’s self-help group in Bellary. Overall, the teachers had a wonderful day and felt special. 

Independence Day

The entire school participated in the Independence Day Celebrations held on 15th August. The students took part in March-Past, Mass Drill and Display. Prizes for Literary Festival and Talents Day were given for winners. The Chief Guest was BMHS alumni, Sri. Praveen Shrinivasa who is a Tech Maverick, Angel Investor and Startup Whisperer

Founder & CEO at CodeMatrix and Billd. This year we had special performances by students attending after-school Yoga Classes, Vocal Music Classes and Bharatnatyam Dance Classes. 

Talents Day

The entire School participated in the Annual Talents Day Celebrations held across two days (27 & 29th July). The students enthusiastically took part in Fancy Dress, Pot Painting , Vegetable Carving, Flower arrangement, Rangoli and other events. At BMHS, it is compulsory for every child to participate and explore their talents. 

Literary Festival

The entire primary school and selected students from middle and high school participated in the annual literary festival. Held across three days (27, 28, 29th July), the students enthusiastically took part in debates and declamation, gave speeches and recited poetry in all three languages – English, Kannada and Hindi.
 

International Day of Yoga Celebrations

The entire school got together to celebrate International Day of Yoga on 21st June. While a selected set of students performed Yoga asanas, the entire school practiced pranayama and meditation together. A couple of students spoke about the importance of yoga in our lives. 
 

Special Workshop by Dr. Lakshmi Pandit and Dr. Vishnu Vardhan

Leading psychiatrists Dr. Lakshmi Pandit and Dr. Vishnu Vardhan conducted separate sessions for Class 10 students and teachers. They covered several current issues affecting the mental health of students and how to manage them. Both sessions were interactive and the audience asked several questions. 

Investiture Ceremony

The student council was appointed on 14th June in a grand investiture ceremony. Our Vice-President, Shri C Shanmugam graciously participated in the ceremony and handed over the badges, sashes and the flags.
 

Orientation Day

A general session was organised on 8th June to introduce the class teachers to the parents. It was also an opportunity for parents to express the needs of their children to the teachers. 
 

First Day of a New Academic Year

BMHS has stepped into its 41th academic year on June 6th with a wonderful team of staff and students. The teachers welcomed the students in a grand manner and the children spent their day getting back to the groove with fun sessions in the classroom and in the playground. The Kindergarten teachers put in a lot of effort in making the classrooms look colourful and welcoming.  

Orientation Day for New Admissions

On 3rd June, children who have joined BMHS for the current academic year and their parents were invited to an orientation programme. The aim was to familiarise them with the rules and regulations of the school and to set expectations for the coming year. It was also an opportunity for the class teachers to get to know more about the child and build a rapport with the parents. 

Workshop for Teachers

The academic year for teachers started with a workshop. Two distinguished speakers – Smt. Uma  N (CRP) and Sri. Shamanna Rangaraj shared their experiences and gave valuable advice. A group lunch was also organised for all the teachers. 

New Batch of SSLC - Orientation Day

Classes have started for the new batch of SSLC students from 01/04/2024. They had an orientation day which started with a yoga and pranayama session. There was then a session by the class teacher who laid down expectations and informed the students of the BMHS SSLC programme. The Dean then conducted a hands-on session about the importance of setting goals and how to achieve them. BMHS Alumnus Yogitha shared tips and tricks on how to ace the board exams. 
 

Saraswathi Pooja

Saraswathi Pooja was held on 15-03-24 to seek the blessings of the Goddess of Knowledge for the SSLC students appearing for the board examinations. Sweets and prasadam were distributed to all. The hall tickets were blessed by Sri Sri Yathiraja Ramanuja Jeeyar before distribution. 
 

Graduation Day

Graduation day was celebrated on March 01, 2024 at Jain Farms.

National Science Day

National Science Day was held on 28th February 2024. The entire School participated in the Events.Students took part in Fancy dress as Scientist, Drawing competition, Lab visit ,Show and Tell , Quiz and Demonstration.

Mathematics Workshop

A Mathematics  Workshop was conducted for SSLC students on 27th January 2024 by Gururaj Sir (ECO BEO South 3), during which he gave a few tips and tricks to attempt the Mathematics Paper in the upcoming SSLC Board Exams.

Magazine Launch

The School Magazine “Smaran BMHS @40 ” was launched on the Annual School Day on 24th January 2024 by Sri Sri Yathiraja Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji. A copy will be soon given to all the students.   
 

Annual School Day

The Annual School day was held on 24th January 2024. The Chief Guest was BMHS Alumni, Dr. Latha N M. Sc, Ph D, PDF, KSLET, Teaching Faculty, Department of Zoology at Jnana Bharathi Campus. The event was graced by the holy presence of Sri Sri Yathiraja Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji. The SSLC toppers were awarded with prizes for their achievements in the Board Exams held in April 2023. Toppers from Pre KG to Class 9 were also awarded for shining in their academics for the academic year 2023-24. A grand cultural programme followed.

Sports Day

Annual Sports Day was held on 29th November 2023 . The Chief Guest was BMHS Alumni, K J Yogeesha, Chartered Accountant . The students took part in March Past , Mass PT, and Drills. Class games were conducted for Classes KG to 5 and for Class 10. Prizes were given for the Inter -House tournaments. 

Childrens' Day

Due to Deepavali Holidays, Children’s Day was celebrated on 15th November with great fervor and enthusiasm. The teachers decorated all the classrooms with help from the high school students, they conducted fun games in the classroom and the finale was a tug-o-war match between 4 teams of teachers. The children were then given a snack box before they left school.

Teachers’ Day

The students of Classes 7, 8, and 9 organized a grand celebration for the teachers. Class 7 students made hand-made cards for all the teachers, class 8 students decorated all the classrooms, and class 9 students organized a fun-filled games session for all the teachers. The Management presented the teachers with a box of traditional sweets and a hand-made and hand-painted tray made by a local woman entrepreneur. Overall, the teachers had a wonderful day and felt special. 

Independence Day

The entire school participated in the Independence Day Celebrations held on 15th August. The students took part in March-Past, Mass Drill and Display. Prizes for Literary Festival and Talents Day were given for winners. The Chief Guest was BMHS alumni, Dr. Shiva Kumar N, MBBS, MD (Anesthesiology), DM (Critical Care) EDIC, DNB and is currently a consultant (Critical Care) at Narayana Hrudayalaya Bommasandra. The board members, Sri Shanmugam, Sri Puri Jaganathan and Dr. Vishnu Vardhan were also in attendance. 

Group Activity For classes 1 to 5

Group Activity for classes 1 to 5 was conducted on 5th August 2023. The students enthusiastically took part in group activities assigned to them.

Talents Day

The entire School participated in the Annual Talents Day Celebrations held across two days (27 & 28th July). The students enthusiastically took part in Fancy Dress, Pot Painting , Vegetable Carving, Flower arrangement, Rangoli, Mimicry, Singing, Instrument and Martial Arts. 

Kho-Kho Seniors

 The finals of the Kho-Kho seniors tournament for both boys and girls were held on 19/07/2023. Check out our Sports page for more details. 

General Meet

After a gap of almost a decade, we held a general meeting between the management, staff and the parents on 12th July. A short programme was conducted after a high-tea wherein we honoured some teachers who completed more than 15 years of service to BMHS. We also held an interactive session wherein the parents could openly present suggestions and ideas.

Jeeyar’s Visit

After several years, we were blessed to receive our guru at the school premises. Sri Sri Yathiraja Narayana Jeeyar Swamiji of Yadugiri Yathiraja Mutt, Thirunarayanapuram, Melukote spent a morning at the school, interacting with the management and the staff.

Class Photo

With bright new uniforms and brighter smiles, the children and staff got together for the annual ritual of posing for a class photo. The class photo is something each child will cherish for decades to come. 

Outreach

The school management visited Manasa Kendra, Indiranagar to spend a morning with the residents and give them clothes for their upcoming picnic. Manasa Kendra is a rehabilitation center for those diagnosed with mental health related issues who come from economically poor families. The management has been helping the center for the last 5 years in a small way.

The entire school got together to celebrate International Day of Yoga on 21st June. While a selected set of students performed Yoga asanas, the entire school practiced pranayama and meditation together. A couple of teachers spoke about the importance of yoga in our lives. We ended the day with distribution of fruits to one and all. 

Teachers Workshop

We had our annual workshop for teachers on 15th June. It was a day-long event with several different sessions focusing on physical and mental well-being of the teachers. The highlight was the interactive session conducted by Dr. Vishnu Vardhan on teacher-student relationship in the present times.

Music and Dance Classes

After-school music and dance classes have started on 13th June. More than 20 students from classes 1 – 7 have registered.

Starting our 40th year with blessings

The board members of BMHS sought the blessings of our spiritual figurehead Sri Sri Yathiraja Narayana Jeeyar Swamiji of Yadugiri Yathiraja Mutt, Thirunarayanapuram, Melukote. He wished us all the very best for a fruitful year ahead.

New Batch of SSLC - Orientation Day

Classes have started for the new batch of SSLC students from 03/04/2023. They had an orientation day which started with a yoga and pranayama session. There was then a session by the class teacher who laid down expectations and informed the students of the BMHS SSLC programme. The Dean then conducted a hands-on session about the importance of setting goals and how to achieve them. Then, BMHS Alumni Inderjeet Kaur who works for the Australian Defence Organisation addressed the students via an audio call. The last session was conducted by the Principal who spoke about the importance of holistic education.

Annual School Day
